Do you wonder if you are far from God or near?
Do you wonder if you are by His side or far in the rear?
Do you wonder if these things going on will ever end? Or if God has become your foe instead of your friend?
Is your life like a tornado that just passed through, And it is so shattered you don't know what to do?
Is there no way out of this rut I am in,
Is it going to continue to stay the way it has been?
Has there been a spiritual drought that seems like years, You have prayed, cried and your eyes stay filled with tears, Is there no relief from all this pain?
Will I ever get back to a normal life again?
Lord, why can't there be more ups than downs?
Why can't there be more smiles than frowns?
Won't You come today and visit me,
So I can get my head above water, that You I might see?
It seems so long since I heard You speak, And yet day after day You I did seek, This pain has been there for so long
I wish just for one day it was gone.
When your life comes together again,
You will know how to help others with a new life to begin, Don't think those things you went through are for naught, Through all this to follow Me you have sought.
Now Lord, not just me but all those that are hurting today, Give peace and comfort to them as they go on their way, And others with their pain, that I might know what to say, To tell them to trust in Jesus, there is coming a better day.
