Long ago, Jesus came and died; Of this fact the prophets testified.
Because of sin, Heaven we would miss.
Jesus came and did something about this.
God saw the plight we were in. Jesus, alone, could rid us of sin. So He came and was our guide.
Then He died.
The price for sin, I could not pay. So Christ came; He was the way.
The things about Jesus, God's Word verified.
Then He died.
Man had lost his way.
To redeem him, there was a price to pay.
"It is finished!" Jesus cried.
Then He died.
In His Word we are told, The price of a slave, He was sold.
God's Word, from us, He did not hide.
Then He died.
A sacrifice was required since the fall.
The sacrifice Jesus made is good for all.
Jesus preached, raised the dead, and was crucified.
Then He died.
God saw He would have to give His Son.
No one else would do; He was the only One.
In Him we now abide.
Because Jesus died.
